After graduating in 2013 from York University with a First in vocal performance and obtaining an honours degree in Music, Claire went on to successfully start up and run her own business whereby she tutors singing and piano, has set up various community choirs, and also performs regularly. She also works at surrounding schools teaching class music. She believes an early introduction to music is an integral part of younger persons lives and their education.
Her latest recording and production projects have entailed writing and recording songs, releasing the hit All or Nothing on iTunes earlier last year. Last year she worked closely with Harry Edwards in producing some vocal recordings, all of which you can listen to on the music page.
Claire plays piano to an advanced standard and accompanies herself in live performance sets. Although specialising in jazz performance and pop, Claire was classically trained from age 11 and she also has endless experience in the performing arts, having been part of stage schools from an early age, then dynamically pushed in the music and arts sector at school and then onto and throughout university.
"Wonderful, distinctive voice, a unique talent."
Claire's love for Musical Theatre stems back to her school days, and now remains as a primary focus in her teaching to younger aspiring performers.
Alongside music tutoring, running a music business and her much loved performing career, Claire is the director and founder of a new community based choir, Vocalights, which is located in Norfolk. She has since taken on the challenge of setting up and running 2 more youth choirs; The Blue Notes for 11-16 years and Little Stars for 6-10 years. She is now looking to expand Vocalights into other towns in her area.
Claire has taken her choir leading to corporate level with running singing workshops in 'Challenge-for-Change' event weeks for local large scale businesses.
Claire's commitment to her performance and teaching knows no bounds, and she hopes to continue performing in the years to come.
